AFA Systems’ Newsletter – November 2020

For this application, the MK-CMA cartoned bottles at over 100 cpm. The system featured fast change over capabilities, including servo change over length adjustment. The MK-CMA utilizes servo-driven timing screws to gently place the product into the cartoner’s bucket conveyor. The cartoner is also designed for the pharma industry, as it comes ready with OCR cameras, bar code readers, and integrated printers. The high-speed cartoner also features tuck and glue closure on the same machine. The change over from glue to tuck and vice versa requires only a few change parts.

For this application, the CP-TLG case packed cartons at over 100 cpm. The system features two independent gantry robots to complete progressive loading. The CP-TLG features AFA’s world-class all-servo change over technology to change over the machine in less than 5 minutes. The system also features a manual load pack station to handle multiple flavor pack patterns. Case erecting utilizes the robust gantry robot to erect cases efficiently.

AFA Systems has improved its design of the MK-LSP – Linear Servopack Autoload Cartoner. The system now features a gantry robot to accurately and gently side shift product into the loading funnels. The loading funnels feature servo side compression to ensure the product is confined during loading.

AFA Systems’ Newsletter – Used Cartoner Promotion

AFA has reconditioned one of its MK-500 – Manual Load Cartoners. The system features a reciprocating feeder for speeds up to 50 cpm. A used Nordson ProBlue system ensures consistent and reliable sealing. Also, a single manual load station with a cycle start provides a safe manual load area for operators.

AFA Systems has recently designed a cartoner to handle 1″ to 5″ diameter bearings on the same system. This flexibility ensured the end-user could run all of their SKUs on one line. The system also can run glue and tuck cartons on the same machine. A simple infeed system that involves a servo-driven loader provides stable and consistent performance.
