Bottle, Can, Canister + Vial

Our MK and HD series can handle high-speed bottle, canister, and vial applications with high efficiency and robust cartoning. Our systems can run intermittently or continuously depending on the product application and speed. Our HD series cartoners can reach speeds of up to 320 cartons per minute (cpm). Furthermore, we have a wide range of infeed systems that are engineered to your specific application including timing screws, bomb-bay doors, and mass-flow laning. Our MK and HD series come standard with Allen Bradley controls and servos.

Features

High Speed Servo Carton Pre-Break Rotary Feeder

Our continuous motion carton feeder with prebreak is servo-driven and can reach up to 320 cartons per minute. Furthermore, this feeder offers a servo-driven changeover for the height adjustment. The carton feeder is easy to maintain, featuring two heads and a straightforward design. It also quickly erects square cartons with the prebreak mechanism.

Barrel Cam or Track/Load Autoload Systems

Our barrel cam loading systems feature standard no carton-no load systems to reject products in cases where a carton is not on the main chain carrier. This system ensures your cartoner is running continuously with no interruptions. There is also the option of the Track/Load autoload system that does not use a cam track to load product into cartons. This system reduces the overall change over time and spare parts while maintaining high-speed cartoning rates.

Glue, Tuck, or Combination Glue/Tuck

Our continuous motion cartoners use Nordson ProBlue hot-melt systems, folding rails, rotary flap kickers, and compression rails or cylinders for glue closure. Our three-stage servo-driven tuck mechanism offers secure closing that can be applied to different tuck configurations, such as reverse, straight, and even tucks with partitions. We also provide the ability to run glue and tuck-style cartons on the same system.

Through a straightforward changeover process, we can switch from glue closures to tuck closures, which gives end users the flexibility to meet their customer demands.

Quick Change Over Features

AFA Systems can provide quick-change-over features on our cartoners that help increase production uptime for end users. End users can pick specific change points on the machine to have servo-driven assisted changeover.

For example, you can change the depth adjustment from a crank with a SIKO counter to a fully automatic servo-driven changeover.

Heavy-Duty Frame Construction

AFA Systems’ 4” x 4” painted steel frames provide 24/7 operation and can deliver 150 cartons per minute (cpm) at intermittent speeds with no machine vibrations.

The frame design has easy access to all the components on the cartoner for servicing and replacing worn items on the machine. Our cartoners have the option of upgrading to a stainless steel frame.
