Pouch, Satchet, Bag + Wrapped Product

The TR and CP case packing models are ideal for low-speed or high-speed. The TR series case packers offer a small footprint and are suited for lower-speed applications. Our CP series case packers can handle multi-lane infeeds at over 600 products per minute (ppm). Both styles use AFA’s efficient and robust gantry robot case erecting technology. In addition, our servo-driven indexing conveyors or servo-pack collating conveyors are great solutions for handling stick-packs, bars, pouches, sachets, bags, and more. The models can also handle either glue or tape closures.

Features

Linear Servo-Pack Collating System

A linear servo-pack collating is ideal for handling bags, pouches, flow-wrapped products, and other wrapped products quickly and efficiently. The system features two (2) independent servo-driven flighted belt conveyors. As one conveyor on the servo-pack collates the product from the incoming conveyor, the other conveyor indexes to the loading area for top loading into the case. The servo-pack also features an air-blow-off system to reject products following too closely before entry into the servo-pack buckets. The buckets on the servo-pack are engineered to fit the end user’s unique product specification.

Gantry Robot Case Erecting

The TR and CP case packing models feature AFA’s efficient, world-class case erecting technology. The case erector can be set up for either top or side load case erecting. The system features an AFA two-axis robot that picks the length panel of the case, and then a rotary arm picks the width panel of the case. The system then pulls open the case, creating a consistent case-opening procedure that eliminates stationary strike bars, tabs, and pins. The gantry case erector then transports the case onto a case carrier chain conveyor for loading and sealing processes.

Flat Stack Magazines

Our case magazine is very ergonomic for operators. Operators place a stack of cases in a flat orientation on the magazine, and the magazine conveys the stack of cases to the gantry robot’s erecting area. Our case packers also automatically square the case stack before the gantry robot begins erecting cases. This feature ensures the case-erecting robot picks from the same position per cycle. Our flat stack magazines also have no pins or tabs, ensuring excellent case quality through the case packing process.

Multiple Lane Infeeds

Our TR and CP case packers can handle multiple lanes to help end users save significant floor space. Instead of having a separate machine for each infeed lane, our case packing infeed systems can handle up to four (4) lanes of incoming product on the same machine. Also, based on the machine programming, if one upstream lane goes down, the system can still operate, meaning less overall downtime.

Heavy-Duty Frame Construction

AFA Systems’ 4” x 4” painted steel frames provide 24/7 operation and can deliver 35 cases per minute (cpm) at intermittent speeds with no machine vibrations. The frame design has easy access to all the components on the case packer for servicing and replacing worn items on the machine. Our case packers have the option of upgrading to a stainless steel frame.
