Bottle, Canister + Can
AFA Systems’ tray packers are ideal for high- or low-speed applications. Our CP and MK tray packers offer robust construction, high-efficiency tray erecting through either a gantry robot or a reciprocating feeder, and innovative infeed systems. Our tray packers can handle high-speed infeeds for bottles, canisters, and cans with speeds up to 400 products per minute. With robust frames, our tray packers are designed for 24/7 operation.
Features
Gantry or Reciprocating Tray Erecting
Our tray packers have options for either low-speed or high-speed applications. Our reciprocating tray erectors are ideal for small-footprint and low-speed applications. This type of feeder can reach 15 trays per minute. For more high-speed applications, the gantry robot tray erecting system packs up to 40 trays per minute. The gantry robot magazine is also a flat-stack design with servo changeover, meaning no tabs or markings on your trays.
Laning or Side Shifting Infeeds
AFA Systems can offer the right infeed for your bottle-type product applications. For slow-speed applications, a side shift solution with backup plate can ensure the product is stable when collating the pack pattern and offers a relatively cost-effective solution. Using a laning system for high-speed applications is ideal when running speeds over 200 products per minute. Both solutions are compact, ensuring your floor space is efficiently used.
Glue or Self-Lock Closing
AFA utilizes Nordson ProBlue adhesive system, folding rails, and compression cylinders to provide consistent tray sealing. This closing solution saves overall tray material and allows for fewer spare parts and maintenance. A self-locking closing system is ideal when customers cannot change their tray closure. These closures require more mechanisms to close and require more tray board. Furthermore, this tray closure hinders high-speed operation as these types of closure require intermittent motion operation.
Chipboard or Fluted Tray Material
Our CP tray packers can handle both chipboard and fluted trays, providing end users with high-end flexibility to meet their customers’ demands. The key behind this is AFA’s gantry robot tray erector, which picks up the whole base of the tray to ensure stability when forming the tray into the main chain conveyor lugs.
Heavy-Duty Frame Construction
AFA Systems’ 4″ x 4″ painted steel frames provide 24/7 operation and deliver 40 trays per minute (cpm) at intermittent speeds with no machine vibrations. The frame design has easy access to all the components on the case packer for servicing and replacing worn items on the machine. Our tray packers have the option of upgrading to a stainless steel frame.
