Our HD series intermittent motion horizontal cartoners are ideal for handling bags, sachets, pouches, bars, blister packs, and more at high speeds. Our HD cartoners have a heavy-duty frame that can reach speeds of over 100 cartons. Our HD series cartoners are designed with flexibility as the system can handle one, two, or three product lanes. We utilize servo-pack systems or intermittent motion bucket conveyors to collate the product. Our gantry or Delta 3 robot technology, powered by Allen Bradley, is a simple yet effective solution for collating single or multi-packs.

Robotic Collating

AFA Systems utilizes robotic technology when handling multi-pack cartons for bars, sachets, bags, pouches, etc. A Delta 3 robot is used for higher-speed applications such as product infeed speeds greater than 400 products per minute (ppm). Gantry robots are generally used for slower-speed applications and are more economical than Delta 3 robots.

Quick Change Over Features

AFA Systems can provide quick-change over features on our cartoners that help increase production uptime for end users. End users can pick specific change points on the machine to have servo-driven assisted change-over.

A popular choice is having the carton length adjusted fully automatically, which is beneficial for end users as this is one of the more time-consuming change-over points.

Heavy-Duty Frame Construction

AFA Systems’ 4” x 4” painted steel frames provide 24/7 operation and can deliver 150 cartons per minute (cpm) at intermittent speeds with no machine vibrations.

The frame design has easy access to all the components on the cartoner for servicing and replacing worn items on the machine. Our cartoners have the option of upgrading to a stainless steel frame.
