AFA Systems’ innovative stick-pack infeed system is used on the MK and HD series cartoners. The infeed system consists of a servo-driven continuous motion lugged conveyor. The lugged conveyor system interfaces with any stick-pack system (for example, an 8-up system). The lugged conveyor delivers the stick packs or another type of pouch to the collating system. The collating system utilizes a gantry or Delta 3 robot to pick and group product into the loading funnels. Finally, a servo-driven loader end loads the product into the open cartons.

Sure-Load Carton Closing System
The innovative sure-load carton closing system replaces standard rotary kickers with a plate tracking system. This plate system tracks cartons moving down the carton carrier chain track to ensure no product falls out during high-speed intermittent operation. The sure-load has a small gap between the plates to seal the trailing minor flap. This system helps reduce overall product waste and limits rejects from the downstream check weigher.
Single or Two-Stick Pack Integration on One Cartoner
The HD or MK series cartoners can integrate two stick-pack machines on one cartoner. This world-class design saves floor space, reduces maintenance, and improves changeover.

Allen Bradley Controls Package
All of AFA Systems’ end-of-line packaging machinery features an Allen Bradley control system package. This system includes all AB safety switches, servo motors, drives, PLC, and HMI. This controls package gives end users a very intuitive platform to troubleshoot issues on the machine, complete changeovers, provide accurate fault diagnostic information, set up and home new sizes, and set up glue configurations on the system.
