We offer high-end, efficient cartoners to handle your tray (plastic or paperboard), rolls, and rigid product applications. Our HD and MK series cartoners utilize our servo-pack collating conveyor to handle incoming product efficiently. After collating the correct product amount, our cartoner will utilize a servo-driven pusher to end or top load the product into the carton. We offer mechanical devices to help aid the loading process, such as reverse loaders, mechanical grippers, and more. These devices ensure that we are maximizing your line efficiencies.
Features
Integration with Upstream Winders
When handling roll applications such as garbage bags, plastic bags, film, etc., our HD cartoners can directly interface with the upstream winding system. AFA’s robotics solutions kick in to provide a smooth interface to minimize conveyor use and ensure a very compact solution. Furthermore, our cartoner reverse loaders ensure rolls are completely contained when end-loading into chipboard cartons.
Glue, Tuck, or Sleeve Closure
Our HD and MK cartoners can handle all three closure types (sleeve, tuck, and glue) on the same cartoner. This flexibility is important for packagers who want to offer their customers multiple options. The changeover processes consist of change parts that are easy to remove and set up. One operator can complete this procedure by changing from glue closure to tuck or vice versa. We utilize Nordson ProBlue adhesive system for glue-style cartons.
Carton Blank Options
AFA’s carton forming, integrated with our innovative infeed systems, is perfect for companies looking to utilize carton blanks. Using carton blanks helps reduce storage and transportation costs while allowing for greater cartoner magazine capacity. Since the carton blanks do not have manufactured glue joints, the overall thickness of the carton is reduced. We offer solutions to either automatically top load or end load carton blanks.
