Cartons
AFA Systems’ case packers can handle cartons through side or top loading. Depending on the speed and pack pattern, our CP or TR series case packers have multiple infeed styles that can handle your unique carton case packing application. Even more, a single case packer can handle any pack pattern through top or side loading using horizontal/vertical starwheels, Gantry robot collators, and bump-turning systems. Our heavy-duty frames on our CP and TR series case packers provide longevity and consistent operation.

Gantry Robot Case Erecting
Our gantry robot case erecting provides highly efficient case erecting. Our gantry robot case erectors will pick the case’s length panel, and a servo-driven case opening arm will pick the width panel of the case. With the length panel stabilized, the case opening arm will pull the width panel open, creating a completely secured and stable RSC. With this, the system can conveniently place the case into case carrier lugs or drive the case through the loading and sealing processes of the case packer. The erector can be set up for either end load or top load style case packers.
Flat Stack Magazines
Our case magazine is very ergonomic for operators. Operators place a stack of cases in a flat orientation on the magazine, and the magazine conveys the stack of cases to the gantry robot’s erecting area. Our case packers also automatically square the case stack before the gantry robot begins erecting cases. This feature ensures the case-erecting robot picks from the same position per cycle. Our flat stack magazines also have no pins or tabs, ensuring excellent case quality through the case packing process.
Compact Footprints
We can design the flat-stack magazine to parallel the case packing section. This setup saves end-users upstream space as the magazine does not extend past the frame of the case packer. Furthermore, our gantry robot carton collator ensures a simple collating process when cartons travel depth dimensions leading to the case packer. The gantry will pick an array of cartons and place them into a loading funnel. The process will continue until the pack pattern is complete and the same gantry robot loads the case.
All Pack Patterns In One Case Packer
With servo-driven horizontal and/or vertical star wheels and Gantry robot collators and loaders, our CP and TR series case packers can handle any pack pattern on one machine. This feature means the case packer can load cartons stacked, on edge, or flat into the case. This flexibility is important to end users, as they can go to market with many different offerings.
Heavy-Duty Frame Construction
AFA Systems’ 4” x 4” painted steel frames provide 24/7 operation and can deliver 35 cases per minute (cpm) at intermittent speeds with no machine vibrations. The frame design has easy access to all the components on the case packer for servicing and replacing worn items on the machine. Our case packers have the option of upgrading to a stainless steel frame.
