AFA tray packers offer robust, efficient tray packing for pouches, sachets, bags, and wrapped products. Our unique and proven infeed systems ensure your product is gently handled and accurately loaded into erected trays. Furthermore, our CP and MK provide monobloc frames to complete all tray-packing processes in one machine. If you are looking for a standalone tray packer, then TL series tray packers can easily interface with your existing tray-forming units.
Features
Linear Servo-Pack Collating System
Our LSPs (linear servopack collators) provide exceptional bar, sachets, and pouches handling. By running two independent servo belt conveyors, you achieve continuous operation with no stoppages when loading products into trays. Furthermore, our LSP collators allow lines to run as high as 600 products per minute. Two or more LSPs on the same machine can save space and cost, reduce changeover time, and achieve higher speeds.
Lock Style, Glue Style, or Both Tray Closures
AFA Systems can complete either lock-style or glue trays on its tray packers. AFA can also provide a combination unit that gives end users high flexibility. We use a Nordson ProBlue adhesive system and Festo closing cylinders, kickers, and folding rails to seal glue-style trays. We use cylinders paired with servo-actuated closing systems for manual lock trays to ensure the lock tabs are accurately inserted into the tab openings. Our world-class engineering team can also have both these sealing options on one machine.
Gantry or Delta 3 Robot Loading
Once the product collates into the servopack or flighted indexing conveyor, AFA Systems utilizes a Delta 3 robot or Gantry robot to load the tray. There is also the option of using a servo-driven pusher to load the erected trays. AFA Systems fully designs, assembles, and services AFA’s Delta 3 and Gantry robots. We do not use third-party robot suppliers, so AFA Systems supports its robotic systems completely. Furthermore, all our robots are under an Allen Bradley controls platform, ensuring world-class automation hardware on our tray packers.
Gantry or Reciprocating Tray Erecting
Our MK series tray packers offer reciprocating tray-feeding technology. This solution ensures a very compact footprint and allows for efficient tray erecting. For more demanding applications, the CP series gantry robot tray erecting can reach speeds of up to 40 trays per minute. The system also features a flat-stack magazine for easy operator loading and zero marking on your trays. At AFA Systems, we offer solutions that fit your unique packaging requirements.
Allen Bradley Controls Package
Our tray packers’ major actuations are driven by Allen Bradley servo motors and drives. The Allen Bradley PanelView 1000 provides clear fault diagnostics, intuitive screens to set up new sizes, and statistics reports for management. In addition, our CP and MK tray packers come standard with category three safety. VPNs are also put on all tray packers to ensure remote support and limit overall service costs on the equipment.
